It's hard for me to admit this...

Sometimes... something happens that my mom always told me would happen and I have to stop whatever I'm doing and call her and tell her, FYI you were right. Because there's almost nothing my mother loves more than being right (except maybe Starbucks).

For example, my mom used to always try to give me advice. But of course, in my stubborn teen years, I wasn't going to listen to anyone, especially my mom because, duh how could she remember what she did in high school?

But then a couple weeks ago, my best friend and I were reminiscing about high school and were surprised at how much we remembered from 6+ years ago. And then it struck me....

If I can remember what happened during my high school, chances are some of these things I'll never forget, or my friends will never let me forget (like when I broke both my wrists at the same time), then my mom probably knew what she was talking about the whole time!

Which means there's probably more things that she was right about?!?

Crap.

All this to say, she was also right about wishing there were more hours in the day. As a youngin, playing until the sun sets, you think you have all the time in the world. Until you start working for the man. Then you have to work all day, go to the gym if you don't want to be obese from sitting on your ass all day like I do, go home cook dinner, eat said dinner, and then use what little time you have left before you pass out to get anything else you might want to do done. Like writing a blog post, or changing your design, or reading a book...

The moral of the story kids is, take advantage of being young, and always listen to your mother.

  1. There is really not enough hours in the day. This 8 hour work day should be reconsidered!

  2. Well when you put it that way.... why is life so depressing to think about sometimes?! I think that's why I'm going to be a teacher: I may be an adult, but I still need my summers!
