Patients; no patience #2

So my boss was riding his bike last Thursday evening and got hit by a car and before you gasp.. he's fine. The side mirror grazed him, knocked him down and as he fell he shattered his elbow. All week people have been asking and saying the same things. So this is an episode of Patients; no patience, injured boss edition.

1. "OH MY GOD, WHAT HAPPENED? ARE YOU OK?" He has a sling on.... not an oxygen tank. He's fine.

2. "I got hit by a car." You got grazed you over dramatic attention seeker. His mirror hit you....

3. "I know a good therapist!" Clever, it's afternoon on a Thursday and you're the first one to say that to THE THERAPIST. On that note, he can't even work on you, how is he supposed to work on himself?

4. "Now you know how we feel!" or "I'll be your physical therapist!" These are actually pretty funny. People are always complaining that my boss is mean to them... now they're being mean to him. Proof that those words will come back to haunt you.

5. "I hope you feel better!" this may be the cynic in me coming out.. but he shattered his elbow... he didn't catch the flu.

Reasons I can't be a "vlogger"

I watch YouTube videos all the time. When I'm getting ready, when I'm at lunch, when I'm procrastinating. I just realized that it's probably a problem how often I watch YouTube videos.
I have my favorites.. then there are the ones I watch by accident and I'm like "how do you have a million subscribers?" It's an epidemic. People are already stupid, now they're being stupid, putting it on the internet for people to see, and getting paid to have people watch it. WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO?

Anywayssss, Ashten at Always Ashten does Vlog like a Boss, and I considered doing it once.... then I realized there are a few reasons why I stick to leaving my words on the internet and not my videos...

1. In blogland, you can pass with knowing a little bit about a lot of topics. Especially in the "lifestyle" niche where I like to hang out. It actually helps to know a little bit about a bunch of stuff. When you corner yourself into one niche, it can get ugly. Like the time I tried to be book blogger... In YouTubeLand, (from what I've seen), it's better to know a lot about one thing. Unless you're Jenna Marbles then you just do whatever the heck you want.
jenna marbles hilarious gif

2. I talk with my hands. You can't try to record yourself talking when your flinging your hands everywhere. Stuff gets knocked over, then you have to stop everything and pick it up, then you forgot what you were talking about. It's a hot mess.

3. Of the YouTubers I usually watch they're either magical goddesses of make up, or effing hilarious. I'm neither. Nine times out of ten I wish I had enough time to redo my make up in the morning. Also nine times out of ten, I'm the only one laughing at my jokes. Seriously the ones that I think are funny here, take me like 20 minutes to come up with. Even sarcastic comments I'm like
thinking confused gif
Ah yes, this will be a good one.

4. No Gifs. Enough said.

5. I can't pull off crazy colors of lipstick.. it just can't happen.

Although I know I'll never be a YouTube sensation, I wouldn't mind being in a gif. Dream big.
What are some reasons you don't want to be YouTuber?

confessing it all

Vodka and Soda
It's Wednesday ladies, you know what that means. I've rather enjoyed hanging out with Kathy at Vodka and Soda. It's like a little therapy every week. Sometimes it's not even enough and I think I should probably see a real therapist.. but who has time for that? Nobody.
1. This has been weighing on me for about a week now. I loathe my job. I hate going to sleep at night because I know when I wake up, I have to get ready and getting ready means I have to come to this place. It's not that I hate what I do (insurance billing) it's not terrible. I don't want to go into too much detail on the interwebs, so that's all I say about it. I know what you're thinking "get another job." It's complicated and for another post.. (Way to start it off deep, Sarah)
phil dunphy ty burrell gif
2. I'm getting sick. I'm going to punch the patient that brought in these germs.
3. I tried watching Two Broke Girls the other night, and it is just not for me. The humor is not on point, it's crude... it was really hard to watch. I was okay with Roland changing it to basketball.....
wastefulwednesday reckless spending gif
4. Speaking of basketball... I'm so ready for it to be over. I'm totally fine with regular season once a week games. Sure babe, we can watch basketball tonight.. but seriously? EVERY NIGHT? Usually it's not a big deal because Roland's asleep by nine so I can turn on Hulu and catch up on my shows that I missed.... but I've been in bed by 9:30 the last week or so.... I'm avoiding anything that even looks like it's about Scandal, Revenge, or Once Upon a Time.
once upon a time roleplay gif
5. I like how when an actress gets pregnant in real life and they write it in to the story line of the show.
6. I've been obsessed with Swagbucks. I have enough points for a $25 gift card right now, and I have no idea what to get.... I'm leaning towards a Sephora one. Mama needs a new pallet.

7. I've been binge watching USA lately and I'm not sorry about it. Law and Order: SVU and Modern Family are the best.

Milestone & Weekend Recap

Last night I watched the last half of the Billboard awards. I was lucky enough to witness the more controversial performances (i.e. Miley Cyrus). I also saw Carrie Underwood receive her Milestone award from Chevrolet, since I didn't watch the first half I had no idea what she was getting a milestone award for.. what milestone had she reached? And because my curiosity got the better of me, I googled it. And you know what? I can't find anything. It explains that the milestone award is for innovative artists who have reached/surpassed certain milestones within the year, but it doesn't tell me what Carrie Underwood did to earn that award (also they had to be voted for. Billboard picked three and America voted for their favorite.)
As I was thinking about this conundrum (because I really want to know what milestones they reached, so if anyone knows, let me know.) I hopped on to blogger to browse through some of my faves, and I noticed that I had 99 blog posts. NINETY NINE BLOG POSTS AND SOLANGE AIN'T IN ONE. (insert other Jay Z jokes here.) Considering I didn't know if I would stick it out through nine, this 100th post that you're reading is kind of a big deal to me.
I was going to try to think of some amazinnnggg blog content for my 100th post, but Monday's are especially challenging for my creative juices. They don't flow. Especially after a weekend of wedding frenzies. So I figured why change things, we made it this far, lets keep it up with another.....

My friends wedding was yesterday, that stuff is exhausting. I'm glad ours isn't for a couple more months. My phone got tossed in my car with my get ready stuff so I didn't have it for the reception. I didn't get nearly as many pictures as I wanted but this is the gist. The awesome and delicious cake, my future hubs, my friend Alicia, we ate our body weight in delicious cake.

I got my hair done on Friday, had some more blonde added to the ombre, I tried getting a picture of it, but it's not easy getting a picture of your face & the ends of your hair. Roland brought home a new baby (bag) I love him. (Roland.. well and the bag) andddd picture number three is sans eye make up, getting ready for Alaina's big day!

Whew. I'm exhausted all over again. Have a happy Monday! (oxymoron I know.)

Friday in Gifs

Hello beautiful people of the internet. It's Friday. I'm in a strangely good mood today. There are a couple reasons why that could be. Here they are, in gifs. You're welcome.

This morning Roland text me from downstairs telling me if I got up then (at 6:20) we'd have time to go by Starbucks. (his car is in the shop so I was taking him to work.. since I have a half day today.)
image

I got up. And got Starbucks. I'm obsessed with the green tea frap (because I don't know how to spell frappocino? frappocinno?) unsweetened. It's soooo good. Go get one if you haven't tried it. Now.

I might be in an extraordinarily good mood because I'm getting my hair done today.
(does anyone else say extra-ordinarily?)

I'm leaving at 12 and not coming back until Monday. AKA I get to wear Nike shorts the rest of the day.

I started using TweetDeck yesterday, so I can schedule my tweets and don't have to remember constantly to tweet about the newest blog post.

My brothers in OKC for a couple months working as an EMT for part of his training. An hour and half drive is much more feasible than an 8 hour one.

Nick @ Nite aired the final episodes of Friends last night. You know the ones where Rachel is going to Paris and she "gets off the plane" and Monica and Chandler get their babies and it's so so so so sad. I balled, like a big baby. And I laughed at the same time, because you can't not laugh at Chandler's jokes.

The saddest part is when Chandler and Joey say goodbye. Best T.V. relationship, ever. Hands down.

With that, only 20 minutes until I put on Nike shorts for the rest of the day.
Have a happy Friday!

Could they burn C.D.s in 1998?

Helene and Sarah are hosting a prompted link up, Total Social, to get bloggers in the vast corners of bloglandia together. Today's post is about your first. First...whatever.

Since I couldn't decide (naturally) I picked a couple.

First Country Song:
I remember this like it was yesterday, my parents never listened to country music, which is ironic because at the time we were living in Tupelo, Mississippi pretty much the birth place of country music and Elvis Presley.

Anyway, my best friend down the street, her parents were all about country music, I remember driving in the car, and this song came on and I loved it. Some how I finagled a copy of it (I don't know if they could burn c.d.s then..) and my dad HATED it. But after awhile he came around. Fast forward about 10 years, we took a road trip from Oklahoma and we listened to Tim McGraw's c.d the WHOLE way. My mom and I still have every song on that c.d. memorized. True Life.

First Awful Haircut:

Of course this is a first because there are usually many of them. But in my defense I didn't have any control over this one. This was all my moms doing. The self-cut bangs of 2007 though? I'll take full responsibility for those.

Yes, that is me. In the ever so popular hounds-tooth-esque dress. And the retched bowl cut. At least in this picture you can tell I'm a girl.. There's a picture from a Christmas the same year and I'm wearing my brothers clothes. A blue tank top with matching blue shorts, I almost asked my mom who this strange boy was in the picture that looked just like me until I flipped it over and saw my name....... I tell my hair stylist that I'm still scarred from these days. That and the year I cut off 6 inches from luscious to ludacris in 6.5 seconds. That was before I started getting my superfluous amount of hair thinned on the regular.

What are some of your firsts?

Confessionals

It's Wednesday, and today I'm jumping on the confessions bandwagon. Choo choo!

+I may have eaten an entire bag of trail mix for breakfast... it's supposed to have enough for six servings.
tomandjerry muñequitos gif
+ I'm getting more blonde added to my ombre on Friday, but chances are it will still be in a top knot 98% of the time. #noshame

cara delevingne red lipstick gif

+ I'm obsessed with Disney movies. The Lion King is my favorite and I know every word to every song, for some reason that bothers Roland. All I can think about is how cool our kids will think I am.

the lion king lion king gif

+ I hate when people say their kids are "21 months". You don't see me saying I'm 276 months.... They're almost two, or a year and a half...
david schwimmer ross geller gif

+ We went over on our data plan this month, and I'm pretty sure it was my fault. I never remember to close the pages in my web browser...

That's all for this week!
Hope you have a fabulous Wednesday!

It's only Tuesday?

Ugh, this week.
And it's only Tuesday.

Saturday:
We took Roland's car to get the ignition replaced and get a new key fob. They fixed it, we picked it up. The key fob won't work on everything, and to figure out what's wrong with it they'll have to do another $75 diagnostic. Seriously? After they told us that they'll refund us for the key fob, Roland tries leaving after work and the piece they replaced isn't even working. Great so $500 down the drain for it to not even work.

Sunday:
Mother's day, not as stressful as most holidays. Went to church with my parents, ate lunch with Roland's. Then we went home I napped while him and his cousin watching the Thunder game. We drove around and found where were going to take our engagement pictures (Medicine Park for any Okies out there.) Then I realized that we had rescheduled our engagement pictures for the same weekend I'm in a wedding. So we're going to have to re-reschedule, and now we're pushing it back to far to use the pictures for save the dates...

Monday:
Work, blah. After work I went to the hotel to sign our contract for the reception area and there was an extra $400 that couldn't be accounted for. We had agreed on $2000 for the whole shebang, but the contract I was looking at said $2400, without the service fee of $350, or taxes. So the approximate total was $2750. That's a whole lot more than what we had agreed on. Thank goodness I caught it before I signed it and they changed it. But several times she said  "I don't even know where I got $2400 from" awesome, so I should have zero confidence in you.

Monday night:
This cat has so much energy. Roland had to hold him so Toby could get a moments rest to eat. Then when we were heading upstairs to go to bed and I was holding Toby, I noticed he was bleeding on his face. The cat had bit him so hard that he was bleeding and had a scrape. Then this morning I noticed he had something else on his side, which after an abnormal amount of "binging" is probably ring worm. I feel so terrible for him, I feel like an awful fur momma.

So far this week I've learned that:
If I hadn't already bought a dress, Roland and I would definitely be eloping.
Clearly I should be in the wedding business because everything is crazy expensive. These people are literally rolling in the dough.
I've failed Toby as his momma, and now he'll have to be confined to his room (yes he has his own bedroom) until his ringworm clears up.
I could really use some faith.

Sorry for this super depressing post, but I had to get some of this off my chest.
Here's to the rest of the week going a whole lot better..
